To our Meridian CUSD 223 families,

We're very excited about our upcoming Read-A-Thon fundraiser and want to share an amazing opportunity for local businesses. If you own, manage, or know of a business that would like to support our school libraries, consider becoming a Read-A-Thon sponsor. By becoming a sponsor, a business will gain exposure to thousands of individuals who are all passionate about supporting literacy and our community.

Hurry, as there are only a limited number of digital and printed sponsorship spots available, including an exclusive Literacy Champion sponsorship. Reserve sponsorship spots today by clicking here. As always, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your support of our school community.

Warm regards,

Meridian CUSD 223 Libraries

Today was high-energy at MJHS! We were thrilled to host Matt Wilhelm, who wowed students and staff alike with his incredible BMX stunts. Beyond the excitement, Matt shared a powerful message on resilience, perseverance, and the importance of kindness. Check out the photos below, and be sure to ask your student which part of the message stuck with them the most!

🌍🎁 History Comes Gift-Wrapped in 7th Grade! 🎁🌍

Mrs. Salo’s 7th Grade History classes took a trip around the world without ever leaving the classroom! Students each selected a country to research and explored the holidays and traditions celebrated there.

To share their learning, students displayed their findings on boxes that looked like wrapped presents, filled with facts, traditions, and cultural significance. They then presented their “gifts” to the class, teaching one another about how people celebrate across the globe.

This was a fun, festive way to build cultural awareness, research skills, and presentation confidence!

Happy Holiday!!!

The MJHS Lighthouse Team kicked off the season with a festive Holiday Breakfast as they put the finishing touches on planning this Friday’s Holiday Assembly! Ana and her family even created fun t-shirts for the team to wear!

From funny jokes and fun games to a special departing poem to send everyone into break with smiles, this team has been working hard to create a memorable celebration for our students and staff.

We can’t wait to share the joy, laughter, and school spirit this Friday at Meridian Junior High!

How do you keep 7th grade science interesting and engaging when talking about force and motion the week prior to winter break? You include a zip line and the famous Elf from the shelf and allow students to demonstrate their understanding of the relationship of mass and acceleration! The winning group had a time of 2.50 seconds!

🎉Can we get a round of applause for our readers? 👏

📚 Kamryn = 2,000,000+ words and counting! 🏆 Kaydin, Zoe, Mavis & Yasmin are rising fast, and our ¾‑ and ½‑million readers are powering through. The ¼‑million club grows every week — community reading vibes are strong. 💪

Find your next page-turner before break from the Meridian Jr. High Library?

Run out of pages over break...swing by Julia Hull Public Library in Stillman and keep those word counts climbing. 🤩📖
