Congressman Darin LaHood stopped by MJHS to speak with Mrs. Salo’s 7th-grade Social Studies class in which he spoke about his role in government and touched on a few of the processes he is a part of. Representative LaHood also observed Mrs. Barton’s Science class doing a lab activity in which students were learning about dependent and independent variables and testing the pH of various liquids.
Thank you, Congressman LaHood, for taking time out of your schedule to invest in our future leaders and inspire our 7th graders!

Dear Meridian Junior High School Families,
We are excited to announce our MJHS Fall Sports Fundraiser!
Athletics and activities at MJHS are funded in large part through spiritwear and concession stand sales. In an effort to generate additional revenue to help us update and replace volleyballs, basketballs, nets, and other athletic equipment, we will be hosting two SNAP fundraisers this school year.
Fall Sports Fundraiser
For our fall fundraiser, we are asking all students participating in the following activities to take part:
Volleyball
Cross Country
Boys Basketball
Cheerleading
Everyone is welcome to participate! Students do not have to be involved in one of these activities to take part in the fundraiser.
The great thing about the SNAP fundraiser is that there is nothing to sell and no products to deliver! This is a donation-based fundraiser. Your student simply creates an account and can provide email addresses and/or phone numbers for family members, friends, and others who may be willing to support MJHS athletics and activities.
We will hold an additional SNAP fundraiser in the spring for Girls Basketball, Academic Team, Wrestling, and Track.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help us provide our students with quality equipment and opportunities to participate in athletics and activities. We greatly appreciate your support of our students and MJHS!
Please see the flyer below for instructions on how to sign up and for additional details:

What a year it has been! Today, we took some well-deserved time out to celebrate the incredible hard work, dedication, and leadership of our Lighthouse team at MJHS. And what better place to let the good times roll than Uptown Lanes? 🍕🎳
Today was all about trading in our everyday responsibilities for bowling shoes, sharing laughs, eating pizza, and enjoying each other’s company. Whether it was a perfect strike or a gutter ball, the energy was electric! ⚡
To our amazing Lighthouse leaders, thank you! Here’s to celebrating this year's victories and looking forward to an even brighter year ahead!

Mrs. Salo took the initiative to seek out this opportunity, and her hard work paid off in a big way. This makeover will create an incredible learning environment for her current students and many more to come! We are so proud of your dedication, Mrs. Salo!

The winning concept? A school mural! Mrs. Rippentrop and our talented 8th-grade Art students took that vision and brought it to life. We can’t wait to have this masterpiece on display for everyone to enjoy.
Our 8th grade Student Council members and 8th Grade Art students presented the project to the Board of Education on Wednesday evening.

Tori T. won the Hula Hoop Contest with Tristan R. coming in second!
Students also had a chance to win a Royal Blue Gift Card for showing work while working out Math IAR questions. Winners of the gift cards: Jorge G., Tori T. and Miguel! Nice job by all.

Today was a special day of connection and inspiration! Our Lighthouse Team at Meridian Junior High had the wonderful opportunity to visit Highland Elementary School for Drop Everything and Read Day. 📚✨
Our students loved sharing their time and stories with the younger readers, helping spark imagination and a love for books. It was incredible to see leadership, kindness, and confidence shine through.
We’re so proud of our Lighthouse Team for being role models and making a positive impact in our school community. And a big thank you to Highland Elementary for welcoming us! We can’t wait to do it again!
