On Monday, November 10, MJHS observed Veterans Day with a comprehensive program designed to honor our service members. The day's events were structured to involve the entire student body and invited guests and began with a dedicated Veterans Breakfast for all attending veterans. This was followed by an assembly, during the assembly, students were given the opportunity to personally introduce the veterans they had invited, fostering a direct connection and expression of gratitude. We were also fortunate to have two fantastic guest speakers, Amber Dach and Heather Drake who spoke to students about their experiences serving. The remainder of the day included various activities recognizing and honoring Veterans. Thank you to all Veterans.

🎒7th Grade History Students Bring Learning to Life with “The Bag Game”!📚

Mrs. Salo's 7th grade history students took their learning to the next level this week with a fun and fast-paced activity called THE BAG GAME! This creative twist on a worksheet turned review time into an interactive challenge full of teamwork, movement, and strategy.

Students worked in groups to pull question strips from numbered bags across the room, raced to collaborate on their answers, and took turns writing responses on their whiteboard tables. With time ticking and points on the line, the energy (and friendly competition!) filled the classroom.

This simple but effective strategy boosted engagement and made reviewing historical concepts both meaningful and memorable! This is proof that learning can be active, collaborative, and fun!
