In 8th grade Art class, the students made a painting for a teacher or staff member who meant a lot to them while they have been here at the Jr. High. Maddie R presented her painting to Mrs. Barton.

We would like to recognize Ms. Abbey Larkin (Wheeler) for receiving the Award for Excellence, an ISBE Those Who Excel Award. Ms. Larkin is a support staff member of MJHS and we are so lucky to have her. She goes above and beyond in many different ways on a daily basis and is always the first to step up to help. Ms. Larkin tirelessly supports our MJHS students and staff therefore today - we want to shout "CONGRATULATIONS and WELL DESERVED!" #WeAreMCUSD

Congratulations to Mrs. Kelly Gale on being recognized by the U.S. Army for her work in honoring Veterans. Mrs. Gale has organized 14 years of assemblies and activities while taking donations to support Darkhorse Lodge. Sergeant Reynolds awarded her the award in front of all MJHS students and staff. They serve as the medical professionals within our buildings, provide nursing care to students with chronic conditions, such as diabetes and seizures, provide emergency care to students and staff, and so much more! Ms. Arjes held a Spooktacular IXL Challenge. Overall, students answered 28,322 grade level questions correctly in a week! The winning class was 2nd Hour with over 10,000 questions answered correctly! The top two students from each class were also rewarded with a pizza party. Congrats to all! Keep practicing your Math!!

Our Health Services Department is hosting 2 upcoming wrap-around service opportunities for students! 1. Annual Onsite Dental Clinic with OPDS. The date of the clinic is TBD, but please complete consent forms now if you would like your student to receive dental care: https://opdsdentalservices.formstack.com/forms/meridian_223 2. Ms. Arjes' math classes competed in an IXL challenge last weekend. Overall, the students answered 7,214 math questions correctly. The winning class was awarded with a donut party. Congratulations, 8th Hour, for answering 3565 questions correctly!!

Congratulations to our very own Landon J. for earning a trip to Greece to represent Team USA in the 2023 Gamma World Championship! Landon is an extremely talented MMA fighter and is hosting a fundraiser TOMORROW for his upcoming trip. Fundraising Information: Saturday, September 9th from 12-5 at the Magicians MMA Academy (103 W. 2nd Street/Leaf River) for a DELICIOUS taco dinner ($10/plate)!
