Class of 2028

8th Grade Promotion: Will be held at SVHS on Thursday, May 23rd at 6:00 p.m.; doors will open at 5:30.  Seating is limited, so kindly ask that only parents and grandparents attend the ceremony. To participate in the ceremony, students must be in good academic standing, which means passing all classes. Any major disciplinary infraction may result in a student being omitted from the ceremony at the discretion of Mrs. Speakes. Students must be present for the entire day to attend the ceremony.

The banquet will follow at MJHS at 7:00 p.m.; dinner will be provided. The banquet is open to 8th grade MJHS students only. The dinner and dance are casual attire events. Students are encouraged to wear nice clothing such as khakis, polos, dress shirts, skirts, capris, or casual dresses. School dress code applies. If you are unsure about your attire, please show Mrs. Speakes a picture for clarification. The event is sponsored by the MJHS PTO at no cost to the students.

8th Grade Book Club Meeting Dates -

8th Grade Book Club:  8th graders were given information about the 8th grade book club which meets once a month in the library. Students wishing to join need only to fill out the form sent to their student emails. Next meeting: Wednesday, May 22.

The following link will take you to our school's solar panel website.

Once you are there, click on the orange link above the picture that says, "Show Solar Data".  This will take you to real-time data for the energy that our panel is generating.  There is data dating all the way back to October when our panel was initially installed, even though they just got the website going.  It is pretty neat to look at the weekly and monthly tabs, keeping in mind the weather changes we have had on a seasonal and daily basis.

Students can only use cell phones and wear hats after school hours.   As with warm weather, this is a reminder to keep in mind the dress code.  Shorts and skirts must be fingertip length and tops must have cap sleeves on the shoulder.  It is air-conditioned in the 6th grade wing so students should be comfortable with the warmer weather.  If you have any questions about the reminders, please review the student handbook or contact the office.
